Social anxiety?

i just came back from the doctor and got prescribed Effexor for my social anxiety problems. anyone take this med also for social problems? did it help at all?

Keep in mind, of course, that every person is different and will react differently to medications. That said, no anxiety medications have helped reduce my SAD symptoms. Psychotherapy has thusfar been unsuccessful as well.

Sorry to be the bearer of such despair…
