How Do I Go Back to Work Without My Meds (Have High Blood Pressure, Social Anxiety, and Bi Polar Disorder)?
I was laid off from my job back in late January. I lost my insurance at this point. I was on medication for my high blood pressure, social anxiety, and bi polar disorder. I’ve now been off my meds for 2 weeks. I am currently going through severe withdrawal symptoms. I can’t sleep at night, have constant thoughts of suicide, sleep 14 hours a day, scratch welps on my skin, can’t get bad thoughts out of my head, have at least 3 minor panic attacks a day, and my blood pressure averages 190/125 on a daily basis (in the morning). I can’t afford to go to the doctor, the only free clinic in my area isn’t willing to see me since I have earned income for the year. I was on Lotrel, Cymbalta, and Abilify (These are $300 a month without insurance). I can not afford this and I am scared as to what will come next. I barely can go out of my house and the thought of a job just causes more anxiety. Some are telling me I have to just suck it up and go out and work. But I don’t see how I can live a normal life, let alone work with my current condition. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
I relate to you. I have severe OCD and am bi-polar and I know how hellish it is to have an untreated mental illness. Have you heard of that prescription insurance that Montel Williams is a part of? They help people who have no insurance. You can get cheap to free medications.
Go here:

It’s worth looking in to. Good luck!
Oh, and I don’t know if you’re in the USA, but if so, have you checked with Target’s or Walgreen’s $4 medications? The drugs you need might be on that list. $4 bucks a month is all you pay for many, many medications.

Local Hospital Emergency rooms can not turn you away because of no insurance and if you tell them you feel like you are going out of your mind and your situation and feel you maybe need to be admitted until they can get you starighted out then do it.

Not sure of your state and their regulations, but if you’ve been out of work since January, what about welfare? I know there is a stigma attached to being on welfare, but if you need your meds, you NEED your meds! I know exactly what it means to not be able to return to work without being stabilized first, so do anything you have to do to get Medicaid or any other prescription aid services.
Good luck to you, I know where you’re coming from.
